Weiman Disinfectant Granite & Stone Clean & Shine is a pH-balanced cleaner for natural stone with a disinfectant built in. One pass cleans the surface, kills bacteria and leaves a shine, where the alternative is keeping three bottles under the sink.

The kitchen is the reason a product like this exists. A counter that handles raw chicken, fish and pork asks for more than a wipe with a cloth, and the usual answer to that is bleach, which is precisely what stone must never meet.

Weiman gets around the problem in a way stone can live with. You get the hygiene without stripping out the sealer or flattening the polish, which is what bleach and ordinary antibacterial sprays do over the course of a year.

It suits granite, marble and travertine. On engineered quartz, reach for Quartz Clean & Shine, which is formulated for a resin surface instead. Both are stocked at the Cebu yard, so say which material you have.

Why Does a Stone Counter Need Disinfecting?

The surface is porous, and the obvious remedy damages it.

Raw food on a porous surface

Chicken, fish and pork get handled straight on the counter in most Cebu kitchens. Liquid stays on top of a sealed granite, but wiping with water alone pushes bacteria around the surface rather than killing anything.

Bleach is the wrong tool

Bleach and antibacterial sprays pull sealer out of the pores, flatten a polish and, on marble and travertine, etch the surface outright. They fix the hygiene problem and hand you a permanent one in exchange.

Unsealed stone is the real risk

Once a sealer has worn through, liquid travels into the stone and no surface cleaner can reach what has been absorbed. Run the water test first: a few drops on an inconspicuous part of the counter, left fifteen minutes and wiped. Darkened stone means it wants sealing before hygiene is even on the table.

Cutting boards still matter

No cleaner does away with the need for a board. Cutting on stone dulls your knives, scores the sealer and brings raw food into contact with the surface for no good reason. Use a board and this bottle becomes a backstop rather than the entire defense.

How Do You Use Weiman Clean & Shine?

Three steps, and dwell time is the one that decides the outcome.

Clear the Surface First

Sweep off crumbs and food debris before you spray anything. A disinfectant only acts on what it can reach, and whatever is sitting on top shields the stone underneath it.

Spray and Let It Dwell

Contact time is what makes a disinfectant work, and it is the step nearly everybody skips. Spray, leave it for the period printed on the bottle, and resist wiping it straight back off.

Wipe and Buff Dry

Take it off with a clean cloth, then bring the shine up with a dry microfiber to keep streaks away. On a long counter, work section by section so nothing dries before you get to it.

Can You Use Bleach on Stone?

No. It is the most common way a counter gets ruined.

No. Bleach draws impregnating sealer back out of the pores, which leaves a porous stone wide open to the next spill of oil or wine. The counter looks perfectly fine that day and stains a month later.

On marble, travertine and onyx it is worse again. Those stones are calcium carbonate, so bleach and acidic bathroom sprays etch them, leaving dull patches that no cleaner will reverse.

Oven cleaner, descaler and most heavy-duty kitchen sprays fall in the same category. If the label does not say the product is safe on natural stone, work on the assumption that it is not.

Vinegar deserves a warning of its own. It is the natural cleaner of choice in a great many Cebuano households, and being an acid it etches marble, travertine and onyx the moment it lands on them.

A stone-safe disinfectant exists so that you never have to make that trade. The hygiene is covered and the sealer stays where it is.

Should You Buy This or the Granite Polish?

This one for most Cebu kitchens, the polish for a counter gone dull.

Buy this one where the counter is in good order and the kitchen handles raw food. It cleans, disinfects and shines in a single pass at ₱1,500 on the Cebu list, which covers ordinary daily use.

Buy Granite & Stone Polish at ₱1,700 where months of soap film or hard water have already flattened the surface. Its job is recovering the reflection rather than day-to-day hygiene.

It Does Not Seal

No cleaner offers a porous stone any protection. Where the water test shows a counter absorbing, it wants a sealer however thoroughly you have been cleaning.

It Does Not Lift a Stain

A stain has travelled into the stone, so nothing working on the surface can reach it. Stains want a poultice to draw them back out, and the Cebu branch can advise on which one.

It Does Not Undo Etching

Acid damage on marble or travertine is physical rather than residue. Light etches can be buffed out with marble polishing powder, but nothing you spray will reverse them.

Can I use bleach on my granite counter?
No. Bleach pulls the sealer out of the pores and leaves the stone exposed to staining, and on marble or travertine it etches the surface for good. Use a disinfectant made for natural stone instead.

What is the difference between this and Granite & Stone Polish?
This one disinfects while it cleans, at ₱1,500, which suits a kitchen where raw food is handled. Granite & Stone Polish at ₱1,700 concentrates on clearing built-up film to restore shine on a counter gone dull.

Is a stone counter hygienic for preparing raw meat?
Yes. A sealed counter cleaned with a stone-safe disinfectant is perfectly fine, though a board is still worth using. Cutting on the stone itself dulls knives and scores the sealer, which is what creates the hygiene problem to begin with.

Do I need to let it sit before wiping?
Yes. Contact time is what lets a disinfectant do anything, and wiping immediately is the mistake we hear about most. Give it the dwell time printed on the bottle before wiping and buffing dry.

Can I use it on marble and travertine?
Yes. The pH balance is set for natural stone, which is precisely what a calcium carbonate surface asks for. Keep bleach and acidic cleaners away from those materials altogether.

Can I use it on engineered quartz?
Use the quartz-specific bottle instead. Quartz is resin-bound and resists staining, and a natural stone product can leave residue on the surface with nowhere for it to go.

Does it replace sealing?
No. Cleaning and protection are separate jobs, and a counter can be spotless and still drink up oil. Run the water test once or twice a year and reach for Proseal when it fails.
