Stone Care International Quartz Clean & Shine is a pH-balanced daily cleaner made specifically for engineered quartz. It clears grease and residue without going to work on the polymer resin that holds a quartz slab together.

That resin is exactly why a separate bottle exists. Roughly 93% of a quartz slab is crushed natural stone, bound with about 7% resin, and the binder is the vulnerable half of the recipe. Harsh cleaners do not attack the mineral; they attack the glue.

Since quartz resists staining, cleaning really is the whole of the maintenance routine. Nothing to seal, nothing to wax, no annual date in the diary. Choose the right cleaner and the list ends there.

What Damages a Quartz Counter?

Four things, and three of them live under your sink.

High-pH cleaners

Bleach, oven cleaner and the heavier degreasers all work away at the resin binder. The harm accumulates instead of arriving overnight, so nobody connects a dull patch with the spray they have reached for all year.

Dish soap, used long-term

Soap does quartz no damage, but it leaves a film that builds and flattens the polish. This is the single most common reason a quartz counter stops looking new, and a proper cleaner undoes it completely.

Abrasives

Steel wool, powder cleansers and scouring pads scuff a polished face permanently. Anything dried on will lift with a plastic scraper instead, and that leaves no mark.

Wax and polish meant for stone

Wax has nowhere to soak into on quartz, so it gathers on the surface and yellows. However well they perform on natural stone, keep Cera Fluida and any granite polish away from quartz.

How Do You Clean a Quartz Counter?

Three habits, and the counter takes care of itself.

Clean as You Go

Spills stay on the surface instead of travelling into it, so a soft cloth deals with nearly everything. There is no rush on account of staining, only on account of how the counter looks between wipes.

Spray and Wipe Daily

A light spray and a microfiber cloth is the entire routine. Take a long run in sections so the cleaner does not dry before you reach it, which is what leaves streaks across a dark slab.

Use a Plastic Scraper for Dried Residue

A little cleaner and a plastic scraper will shift candle wax, dried food or adhesive. The scraper is the right tool here; the pad is the one that does permanent harm.

Can You Use a Granite Cleaner on Quartz?

No. The two are solving different problems.

No. Granite cleaners are built for porous mineral surfaces, and plenty of them carry a polish or a light wax element meant to enrich natural stone. Quartz gives that residue nowhere to go, so it gathers on top instead.

The same holds in reverse. This cleaner will do granite no harm, but it is not performing the job a granite product performs, and it will not help a sealed natural stone the way a dedicated bottle does.

The distinction matters because both bottles sit side by side on the Cebu shelf at ₱1,700 and look very nearly the same. Read the one in your hand.

Where a Cebu kitchen has both materials, which happens often enough when the island is quartz and the perimeter granite, buy both. It is the simplest way to avoid spending years using the wrong bottle on the wrong surface.

Does Quartz Ever Need Sealing?

No. Not once, and not ever.

No. Sealing works by filling the pore structure of a quarried stone so that liquid cannot travel into it. Engineered quartz is manufactured, so a sealer has no work to do and merely dries on top as a film.

The question comes up constantly in Cebu, usually because a contractor has told a customer that every stone counter needs sealing. That is true of most natural stone and false of every quartz we sell.

Nobody should be selling sealer for a quartz counter without first establishing what the counter is. Where you are not certain what you have, the water test decides it: a few drops of water on an inconspicuous part of the counter, fifteen minutes, then wipe. Quartz will not have darkened.

Wax and polish fall under the same heading. A cleaner is what quartz needs, and that is the complete list.

What This Cleaner Will Not Fix

Three kinds of damage that no bottle reverses.

Heat Scorch

A pan lifted straight off the burner burns the resin, and the mark will not clean or polish out. This is the one genuine weakness of quartz, and the reason a trivet is not optional.

UV Yellowing

Long spells of direct sun shift quartz permanently towards yellow, which is why we do not recommend it outdoors. Fit blinds wherever a counter catches strong afternoon light.

Scouring Scratches

An abrasive pad flattens the polish, and nothing in a bottle brings it back. Since prevention is the only cure, the answer is to keep those pads off the counter altogether.

Can I use a granite cleaner on my quartz counter?

Will it remove a heat mark?

No. Scorching burns into the resin, and nothing you clean or polish with will undo it. A trivet is the only real protection, and heat damage sits outside any workmanship warranty.

Can I use it on granite or marble?

It will do them no harm, though it is not performing the job a natural stone product performs. Where a Cebu kitchen holds both materials, buy both rather than settling on one and hoping.
