Why Choose Moonstone

Stain-Resistant Manufactured rather than quarried, so acid will not etch it and no sealer is ever required.
Hides the Daily Mess Fine flecking breaks up crumbs and water marks, so a white counter in a busy Cebu kitchen stays looking tidy between wipes.
No Seam Matching Needed The texture is uniform and has no direction, so slabs can be laid any way round and seams need no alignment.
Resists Chips and Scratches Engineered quartz resists wine, oil and coffee, and the surface stands up to daily knife-and-pan traffic.

What Is Moonstone Quartz?

An even scatter of flecks across bright white.

Moonstone is an engineered quartz in bright white, finely and evenly grained with pale gray and soft translucent flecks that repeat uniformly across the whole slab, so there is no veining and no figure that has to be positioned.

The effect lands closer to a fine terrazzo than to any marble. From the other side of a room it reads as a clean white counter, and the granular sparkle only declares itself once you are standing over it.

At ₱5,300 per square meter it sits toward the lower end of our Cebu quartz list: just under Cloudstone at ₱5,500, a little above White Sapphire at ₱5,000, and well below the veined designs, which open at ₱8,000. Flecking is cheaper to manufacture convincingly than veining, and that accounts for most of the gap.

Manufactured rather than quarried, the slab comes to roughly 93% crushed natural stone with about 7% resin holding it together. That construction makes it stain-resistant, and it takes sealing off the list for good.

How Do You Clean Moonstone Quartz?

Three habits, and the sparkle stays in the surface for years.

1

Clean as You Go

Turmeric, cooking oil and coffee stay on top of the slab instead of soaking downward, so most of what a Cebu kitchen produces comes away with a soft cloth. The flecking disguises a good deal between wipes, which is part of why this design suits a kitchen in real use.

2

Use Only Quartz Cleaner

Months of dishwashing liquid leave a film that takes the sharpness off the polish, and a dulled surface is exactly what kills the sparkle in a flecked slab. A pH-balanced quartz formula clears residue without attacking the resin.

3

Never Scour It

Abrasive powders, scouring pads and steel wool leave scuffing in the polish that does not come back out. Lift anything baked on with a plastic scraper instead and the surface stays unmarked.

Our Cebu yard keeps specially-formulated stone care products on hand, so nobody has to stand in a supermarket aisle guessing.

How Do You Care for Moonstone Quartz?

Sealing is off the list, which leaves three rules.

1

Always Use Trivets

Resin is the heat-sensitive part of the slab, so a pan carried straight off the burner can scorch or discolor it for good. Heat is the most common way a quartz counter is ruined, and no workmanship warranty covers it.

2

Keep It Out of Direct Sun

Sustained UV yellows engineered quartz and the change cannot be undone. Hang blinds where a counter catches the afternoon, and keep every quartz installation indoors.

3

Skip Harsh Chemicals

Oven cleaner, bleach and other high-pH products break the resin down over the years. Wax is worth avoiding too, since it accumulates and yellows against a white ground.

Is Moonstone Quartz Good for Kitchen Countertops?

Forgiving enough for a Cebu kitchen in daily use.

Yes. Engineered quartz resists staining and acid does not etch it, so calamansi, vinegar, wine and tomato sauce rest on the surface and lift off with a cloth rather than settling into the slab.

Hardness is on your side as well. Quartz measures roughly 7 on the Mohs scale where marble manages 3, so it shrugs off the scratching that leaves a soft natural stone looking tired after a few years of ordinary cooking.

Where Moonstone earns its place is the flecking. Crumbs, water marks and general cooking evidence all register far less on a finely flecked surface than on a flat white one, so the counter goes on looking tidy for longer between wipes. If you cook every day in a Cebu kitchen and still want white, this is the more practical of the two.

Heat is the real boundary. A pan lifted off a live burner can scorch the resin, and no amount of polishing brings that back. Trivets are not optional on any quartz.

Does Moonstone Quartz Need Sealing?

There is nothing to seal — this slab is manufactured, not quarried.

No. A sealer earns its keep by filling the pore structure of quarried stone so liquid cannot travel inward. Engineered quartz gains nothing from that, and a few formulations actively attack the resin.

The comparison with a natural flecked stone is worth drawing. A light granite with this sort of grain, Salt and Pepper at ₱2,100 per sqm in Cebu being the obvious one, does want sealing and does want it again later. Moonstone gives you a similar visual texture with none of that standing commitment.

Anybody selling you a sealer for a quartz counter has either misunderstood the material or is selling something you will never use. Cleaning is the entire maintenance routine.

Moonstone vs Our Other Plain Quartz

Grained or smooth, light or dark, all held on our Cebu floor.

Moonstone is the flecked white

Fine gray and translucent flecks scattered evenly over bright white, ₱5,300 per sqm in Cebu. Choose it when you want a white kitchen that can take daily cooking.

Nimbus is the same texture in charcoal

Nimbus carries the identical fine flecking on deep charcoal gray, at ₱5,000 per sqm. The same forgiving surface at the opposite end of the tonal range, and the obvious partner for pale cabinetry.

Cloudstone is white without the flecking

Cloudstone is a near-plain white marked only by faint wisps, at ₱5,500 per sqm. Cleaner and quieter to look at, though it gives up crumbs and water marks sooner than this one does.

Aetherstorm if you want movement

Aetherstorm runs soft gray veining over warm white at ₱8,000 per sqm. That is the choice when the counter is meant to have direction and flow rather than an even texture.

What Colors Go With Moonstone Quartz?

A white with texture rather than a white with a mood.

The flecking is neutral gray over white, so the slab carries no strong undertone and will not fight a cabinetry color the way a pointedly warm or cool white can.

Gray cabinetry is the most natural fit, because the flecks pick the color up and tie the two together. Anything from pale dove through to mid charcoal works without needing to be matched precisely, which is why it turns up so often in a Mandaue condo fit-out.

Timber suits it too, though the lighter species read better. Oak and ash sit comfortably against the texture, while a very dark walnut can make the flecking look busy rather than fine.

Hardware is unrestricted. Chrome and brushed nickel echo the gray flecks most directly, matte black draws a sharper contemporary line, and brass works where the rest of the room already leans warm.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Moonstone real stone?

No, not the way a quarried slab is. This is engineered quartz: roughly 93% crushed natural stone bound with about 7% resin. Quartz itself is a natural mineral, but the slab is made in a factory rather than cut from a hillside, which is why acid will not etch it and why sealing never enters the picture.

Is Moonstone quartz related to the moonstone gemstone?

No. The name describes the look, not the material. Gemstone moonstone is a feldspar with a floating blue sheen; this is a flecked white engineered quartz. Nothing in the slab is gemstone moonstone.

Does the flecking hide dirt better than a plain white?

Yes, noticeably. Crumbs, water marks and cooking residue break up against a finely flecked surface instead of sitting on a flat white. Spills rest on top either way, but Moonstone looks tidy for longer between wipes than a near-plain slab does.

Can you put a hot pan on Moonstone quartz?

No. Direct heat scorches the resin binding the slab and that mark cannot be polished out. Use a trivet for anything coming off a burner or out of an oven. Heat damage falls outside every workmanship warranty.

Does Moonstone quartz stain?

Stain-resistant, not stainproof. Spills rest on the surface instead of soaking in, so red wine, turmeric and coffee come away easily with a cloth.

Does the pattern need aligning across a seam?

No, and that is a practical advantage. The flecking is uniform and has no grain direction, so slabs can be turned whichever way suits the room and a seam does not need matching. Veined and banded designs both demand that planning.

Can Moonstone quartz be used outdoors?

No. Sustained UV yellows engineered quartz permanently, and on a white slab that shift is plain to see. For a lanai or an outdoor counter, granite is the material that keeps its color under strong sun.

Where can you buy Moonstone quartz in Cebu?

Stone Depot holds Moonstone quartz at our Cebu yard, and we supply and install across Cebu, Bohol, Leyte and Negros Island. Slabs move between locations, so availability shifts. Deliveries run across Metro Cebu and Mandaue, or out to Bohol and Tagbilaran, priced by distance from the yard.

Grained designs are worth seeing in person, because the flecks barely register in a photograph and only really show at arm’s length. The branch is open Monday to Saturday, 8 AM to 5 PM, and you are welcome to visit or get in touch.
