What Is Cloudstone Quartz?

Near-plain white, with the faintest weather in it.

Cloudstone is an engineered quartz in a bright, cool white, marked only by sparse gray wisps and soft cloudy flecks drifting across the surface, with no vein structure and no direction to any of it.

It is the quietest surface in our quartz range. From standing height it reads as a plain white counter, and the markings only resolve once you are close enough to go looking for them.

At ₱5,500 per square meter it is also the cheapest way to that near-plain look, since the restrained whites in our Calacatta line start at ₱8,000 in Cebu. Two whites do come in under it, though neither is plain: White Sapphire at ₱5,000 is a coarse terrazzo and Moonstone at ₱5,300 is finely flecked throughout.

Manufactured rather than quarried, the slab works out at roughly 93% crushed natural stone with about 7% resin binding it. That construction makes it stain-resistant, and it takes sealing off the list for good.

How Do You Clean Cloudstone Quartz?

Three habits, and the brightest surface in a Cebu kitchen stays bright.

Clean as You Go

Turmeric, cooking oil and coffee stay on top of the slab instead of soaking downward, so most of what a Cebu kitchen produces comes away with a soft cloth. A near-plain white gives up residue faster than any patterned slab, which makes this the habit that counts most here.

Use Only Quartz Cleaner

Months of dishwashing liquid leave a film that takes the sharpness off the polish, and on bright white that dullness shows up sooner. A pH-balanced quartz formula clears residue without attacking the resin holding the slab together.

Never Scour It

Abrasive powders, scouring pads and steel wool leave scuffing in the polish that does not come back out. Lift anything baked on with a plastic scraper instead and the surface stays unmarked.

How Do You Care for Cloudstone Quartz?

Sealing is off the list, which leaves three rules.

Always Use Trivets

Resin is the heat-sensitive part of the slab, so a pan carried straight off the burner can scorch or discolor it for good. A scorch mark on white has nowhere to hide, and no workmanship warranty covers heat damage.

Keep It Out of Direct Sun

Sustained UV yellows engineered quartz and the change cannot be undone. That shift is at its most obvious on a white slab, so hang blinds where a counter catches the afternoon and keep every quartz installation indoors.

Skip Harsh Chemicals

Oven cleaner, bleach and other high-pH products break the resin down over the years. Wax is worth avoiding too, since it accumulates and yellows against a cool white ground.

Is Cloudstone Quartz Good for Kitchen Countertops?

Yes on durability, with one honest warning about white.

Yes. Engineered quartz resists staining and acid does not etch it, so calamansi, vinegar, wine and tomato sauce rest on the surface and lift off with a cloth rather than settling into the slab.

Hardness is on your side as well. Quartz measures roughly 7 on the Mohs scale where marble manages 3, so it shrugs off the scratching that leaves a soft natural stone looking tired after a few years of ordinary cooking.

The warning concerns appearance rather than durability. A near-plain white conceals nothing, so crumbs and water marks show up in a way they simply would not on a veined slab. Nothing is damaged by that; a busy Cebu kitchen just makes it look untidy sooner between wipes.

The genuine physical boundary is heat. A pan lifted off a live burner can scorch the resin, and no amount of polishing brings that back. Trivets are not optional on any quartz.

Does Cloudstone Quartz Need Sealing?

There is nothing to seal — this slab is manufactured, not quarried.

No. A sealer earns its keep by filling the pore structure of quarried stone so liquid cannot travel inward. Engineered quartz gains nothing from that, and a few formulations actively attack the resin.

The contrast with natural stone matters at this end of the range. A white marble wants sealing, etches wherever calamansi lands and marks where a wine glass has stood, and on white marble each of those marks is plain to see. Cloudstone gives you the pale look with none of that upkeep, and it comes off our Cebu floor rather than on indent order.

Anybody selling you a sealer for a quartz counter has either misunderstood the material or is selling something you will never use. Cleaning is the entire maintenance routine.

Cloudstone is the quietest of them

Sparse gray wisps over bright cool white at ₱5,500 per sqm in Cebu. Choose it when you want a plain white counter and would rather put the difference somewhere else in the kitchen.

White Sapphire and Moonstone cost less

White Sapphire is ₱5,000 per sqm and Moonstone ₱5,300, so Cloudstone is picked for its plainness rather than its price. Both of those have visible texture: coarse terrazzo chips in the first, fine even flecking in the second.

Aetherstorm is warmer, with real movement

Aetherstorm drifts fine gray veins across a warm off-white ground, at ₱8,000 per sqm. Choose it if a plain surface feels too bare but restraint is still the aim.

Lightning Calacatta if you want the veining seen

Lightning Calacatta carries clearly defined veining at ₱8,000 per sqm, and Cirrus Calacatta the same restraint as this one for the same money. Both are the opposite decision to Cloudstone, and the right call when the counter is meant to be the feature.

What Colors Go With Cloudstone Quartz?

A plain white counter argues with nothing.

This is the most flexible surface we sell. A cool near-plain white carries no undertone worth fighting, so it will sit beneath practically any cabinetry color without a clash.

Deep colors gain the most. Navy, forest green and charcoal cabinetry all benefit from a bright counter above them, and the contrast does the work a patterned slab would otherwise be asked to do.

All-white schemes are the single risk. White cabinets, white splashback and a white counter can tip from clean into clinical, so bring in timber, a colored island or a textured splashback to give the eye somewhere to settle. It is the surface we specify most readily for a Tagbilaran resort project, where the joinery carries the color.

Hardware is wide open. Chrome, brushed nickel and matte black all read cleanly against a cool white. Brass works too, though it warms the room more noticeably here than it would against a slab with warmth of its own.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Cloudstone real stone?

No, not the way a quarried slab is. This is engineered quartz: roughly 93% crushed natural stone bound with about 7% resin. Quartz itself is a natural mineral, but the slab is made in a factory rather than cut from a hillside, which is why acid will not etch it and why sealing never enters the picture.

Why does Cloudstone cost less than the veined quartz?

Pattern complexity is most of what you pay for in engineered quartz. Cloudstone is close to plain, so it is ₱5,500 per sqm in Cebu against ₱8,000 and up for the veined designs. Material, thickness and durability are the same. It is not our cheapest white, though: White Sapphire is ₱5,000 and Moonstone ₱5,300, and both carry visible texture.

Does a plain white counter show dirt more?

Yes, in appearance though not in damage. Crumbs, water marks and cooking residue are all more visible on a near-plain white than on a veined or banded slab. Spills rest on the surface and come away easily, but it wants wiping more often to look its best.

Can you put a hot pan on Cloudstone quartz?

No. Direct heat scorches the resin binding the slab and that mark cannot be polished out, which is especially unforgiving on white. Use a trivet for anything coming off a burner or out of an oven.

Does Cloudstone quartz stain?

Stain-resistant, not stainproof. Spills rest on the surface instead of soaking in, so red wine, turmeric and coffee come away with a cloth, even though the pale ground makes them look alarming while they sit there.

What thickness and finish does Cloudstone come in?

Slabs arrive 18 mm and polished, with natural unpolished edges. Any edge profile on the finished counter is shaped during fabrication rather than something the slab turns up with.

Can Cloudstone quartz be used outdoors?

No. Sustained UV yellows engineered quartz permanently, and on a white slab that shift is at its most obvious. For a lanai or an outdoor counter, granite is the material that keeps its color under strong sun.
